Single malt whiskey is an acquired taste?
The first time I tried regular blended whiskey, I hated it, but someone told me that he will grow on you and stay with her. I did, and now Chivas Regal is my favorite drink. However, while trying some of the more unique quality malt, The Glenlivet, and again, I do not like him, but I hope it will get better with time. Is there anything I should look for when you drink single malt? Similar to wine, and when learning it, and know what to look to improve the experience and taste?
Yes, definitely an acquired taste. As for what to look for the point is to look at anything you want. This will take some experimentation, so I'd better try to get in bars instead of buying bottles, because if you pay $ 20 in Saint crap HOW MANY? a bottle and I do not like you just lost. Instead of going to your average club or bar the corner, to find places that are a little bit higher. They are more likely to have a wider range of malt whiskeys. Hotels, bars and restaurants A good place to start. I would not recommend it fantasy / nightclubs, because more or less follow what is fashionable is not necessarily good. You can also experiment with how you prefer to drink their whiskey. For me, nothing but pure (with your back straight, no water, no ice) is sacrilege, but some, like rocks or wherever a little water to half and half mixture of water and whiskey. As for brand, my favorite is Lagavulin (smoke odor / taste very good and peat), Glenmorangie, Glen Garioch and. Macallan is another good. Two of the most famous and popular, apparently in the U.S. are Glenfiddich and Glenlivet. They're fine, but once you learn what else is there, not for themselves.
